It’s one of the reasons we run our holiday cottage business. So we can secure our heritage. Celebrate it. And share it with others.

We understand you choose a self-catering holiday because you want both the freedom it gives you and some space and peace away from other people. However, it is still your holiday and should be easy and enjoyable for you all.
So we include some luxuries that will make your stay extra-special. We offer courses and activities so you can try something new. And we can help you create a unique family reunion to celebrate your own Welsh heritage.

We’re always on hand to help should you need anything. Our guests often comment on our attention to detail and how well we’ve taken care of them.
And because we want you to enjoy a holiday that is authentically Welsh, when we furnish the cottages and buy produce for the hampers we always try to buy Made in Wales.
Our family roots run deep in west Wales. We have ancestors from Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and south Cardiganshire.
Cefnmeurig is on our old family farm. Our ancestors farmed here as tenants at least as far back as 1740. Then, in the early 1800s, our great-grandfather bought it. More recently, we converted one of the outbuildings into a Family History Research Centre.
Our grandfather built Llysmeurig in the early 1930s as a home where he could retire and raise his young family. One of the outbuildings there is now a photography dark room.
Porthmeurig is new to us as we bought it in the 1980s. The apartment block was built in 1960 on the site of Sion House, a building by John Nash (the architect who built many significant houses in Wales as well as Buckingham Palace and much of Regent Street) that burned down in the 1930s.
When you treat yourself to a holiday in one of our cottages you’ll be helping someone in need. Because we believe that all businesses, however large or small, should behave responsibly and give something back.
So for each holiday booked with us we give £50 to:
– Buy an all-seasons bivvy bag for refugees in Europe
– Support Llamau, a charity working to improve the lives of socially excluded and homeless young people and vulnerable women across Wales
– Support PAPYRUS, a UK charity working to prevent young suicide
